When was the organization started?Future Health Now Foundation, Inc. was established in 2022 by founder Shavonne Reed, inspired by a desire to honor her mother's legacy. The foundation aims to empower more girls to grow into thriving women who realize their full potential and surpass the average life expectancy by prioritizing their health early. Through education, awareness, and programs designed to remove barriers often faced by women of color, we are committed to fostering a healthier, more equitable future for generations to come.
-
Why does this matter? This matters because too many women, especially women of color, face significant barriers that prevent them from living healthy, fulfilling lives. These barriers—ranging from systemic inequities in healthcare and the workplace to a lack of access to resources—contribute to preventable chronic diseases, lower life expectancy, and missed opportunities to reach their full potential. By addressing these challenges head-on, we can create a world where every woman has the tools, knowledge, and support to thrive. It’s not just about improving health; it’s about breaking the cycle of inequality and building stronger, more resilient communities. When women prioritize their health and well-being, they can lead fuller lives, contribute more meaningfully to society, and leave a lasting impact on future generations. This matters because we have the power to make a difference—by removing these barriers, we can change lives, improve outcomes, and create a healthier, more equitable future for all.

How do donations directly impact the communities you serve?Every donation we receive plays a critical role in advancing our mission to empower women of color to prioritize their health and well-being. Your contributions help fund essential programs that provide education, resources, and support to break down the barriers that women of color often face. For example, donations enable us to: Provide health education workshops that promote preventative care and early intervention Offer scholarships and mentoring programs that help young girls and women reach their full potential Create outreach initiatives that raise awareness about health inequities and advocate for systemic change Support communities through direct services, including mental health resources and wellness programs Each dollar you give goes directly toward building healthier futures and stronger, more resilient communities. Your generosity allows us to create real, lasting impact, helping women live longer, healthier, and more empowered lives.
